Disclosure: The Whiteness of Glass is an exhibition inspired by a 2020 essay written by Related Tactics—an artistic collaboration between artists and cultural workers Michele Carlson, Weston Teruya, and Nate Watson— and published by The Corning Museum of Glass in New Glass Review 41. The essay shared demographic data highlighting the lack of institutional representation of Black artists and other artists of color working in glass. Related Tactics invited thirteen artists of color to respond creatively to this data in three stages that build on one another: visualizations, artist instructions, and a collaborative studio session at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture in Philadelphia, PA. The results include 100 objects and drawings.
